Things you might not known

Mobile phones have actually been around for many years, first coming onto the scene back in 1973. Over the years, the look and capabilities of mobile phones have seen significant changes as they came to be what we have today. Let’s take a look at some of the major milestones in the development of mobile phones as we know them today.

The most important feature of mobile phones today is their convenience and portability. The original mobile phones were clunky and difficult to transport. Headsets underwent major changes in early 1990’s. Cell phones also changed formats which helped make them smaller. For instance, flip phones became popular.  A hinge joins the two piece flip phone construction. This made the phone half its size when not in use. Flip phones are still available today although other styles have taken hold.

When mobile phones began accessing the internet, there was a need for an operating system. Initially the field was rather crowded with several out there. Gradually over time as smartphones became more popular, operating systems like Blackberry and Symbian (Nokia) and they were no more used. Afterwards the field was narrowed down to two major operating systems, Apple iOS and Google Android. This has made it much easier for designers of mobile games. No longer do their games have to be adapted for several operating systems but mainly two. As a result, the availability of games has skyrocketed. Gaming is now one of the most popular users for mobile phones. Games can enjoy mobile casino games like mobile pokies on mobilecasinoaustralia.com.au or popular high level HD games.
