This allows them to respond quickly to prevent expensive water damage.
Another use of smartphones in home and business security has been smart locks and smart lights. Back in the day, you would set your lights to a timer to turn on right before you came home. Now, smart home companies such as Vivint, have made it possible for users to not only check if their lights are on using a live camera feed, but also to turn them on and off. Additionally, doors are wired to lock and unlock remotely on the user’s command through Vivint’s smartphone app. This could allow a homeowner to get in if they’ve forgotten their key or simply check the locks after they’ve left the house for the day.
